I am a Ph.D. student working under the supervision of Prof. Chandra Nair, in the Information Engineering department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

    Abstract: Evaluation for hypercontractivity and reverse-hypercontractivity parameters for the binary erasure channel.

 

  • CSE Theory Lunch Talk@CUHK, 11:00 am-12:00 am, Oct 11, 2019, SHB 833.    Abstract: I will talk about some results in a recent paper “Capacity Upper Bounds for the Relay Channel via Reverse Hypercontractivity” by Jingbo Liu and Ayfer Ozgur. This paper uses reverse hypercontractivity to obtain some capacity bounds for the symmetric relay channel. I will outline the proof of their main result as well as demonstrate how reverse hypercontractivity plays a role in the proof.

    Title: Log-Convexity of Fisher Information along the Heat Flow                           Abstract: A recent result regarding the log-convexity of Fisher Information along the Heat Flow in the single dimension case will be presented. This is joint work with Michel Ledoux and Chandra Nair. The log-convexity of Fisher Information had been conjectured earlier as a consequence of a stronger conjecture regarding the complete monotonicity of Fisher Information along the Heat Flow.

    We will present the motivation behind the result as well as open problems (for instance, the generalization to higher dimensions and the potential relation to geodesic convexity).
